The AuSable is so beautiful right now! Colorful flowers along the banks and all different kinds of moms and their babies!! Fishing is still outstanding with brown Drakes in the evening being the main course with lots of smaller hatches during the day. The Iris are blooming now and that is a sure sign the Hex hatch won't be far behind. Hang on to your hats we are about to take a wild ride!!
You need to get up for a canoe or kayak ride or better yet try your hand at some fishing.

Bending The Rod
I have been fishing lately with people who are just interested in bending the rod. This time of year there are a lot of guest at the Club just trying to get some sun and fun on the water! In a couple of weeks the mood will change and a more serious crowd will arrive, Tarpon, Bonefish and Permit will be fish of choice!

Florida Season Opener
The first two weeks of this new season in the Keys has been very interesting! With King tides and lots of wind it at times has been a struggle, but when the going gets tough we all know what to do! We have been able to release some beautiful fish and see some incredible wildlife. Looks like a busy week coming up, but have slots open if you are interested in a trip. Tight Lines Capt. Dave

Mid Summer Fun
It has been a very busy time here on the AuSable! We just finished up our annual summer camp with our grandchildren. We had swimming, kayaking, fly tying and of course fishing!!
Fishing has remained very good with terrestrials and attractors being the main patterns, trico's are also an option in the morning. If water temperatures remain low fishing should remain good in the future!

AuSable River Fun
Fishing has been outstanding so far this summer! We have had numerous hatches and fish have been doing their part! Everyone now is waiting for the Hexomania to begin, any day now.
Sue Peterson and Fred Pape, friends from Ocean Reef Club were just up fishing The AuSable with me. Had a bit of bad weather come in, we had a blast fishing, but catching was a bit slow. Should be back in the 80's tomorrow and all should be back on tract!!
