What A Day

Today was spectacular! No wind and a warm temperature! I fished with a nice young man from North Carolina. We a had a wonderful time. We saw lots of wildlife. Half a dozen Manatees, a Crocodile, and lots of Wood Storks!

We were fishing for Snook and Tarpon. Saw some very large Snook but they would not bite.
We caught lots of Jacks, Ladyfish, Snappers and Mackerel.

Rainy Day Monday

Chased Snook all afternoon yesterday, then I got the call for a Tarpon mission last night. Thought I was in heaven for a while!! I awoke this morning to pouring rain! Lost my trip for today. This winter just won't let me catch a break two days in a row!

Supposed to be 80 tomorrow so I am going to work the phones and try to book a trip. Come on spring break!!!

Here Comes The Sun

It was a glorious day to be fishing. The sun was out and temperatures were back to normal! I fished with a nice couple from Shreveport Louisiana. The water was gin clear and we had no problem finding fish! We had great shot a cruising Bonefish, but it had been four years since either one had used a fly rod. Cast were close but no cigar! We also found a bunch of laid up Snook in Card Sound. They are just about back to full speed and we will show no mercy tomorrow.

Ice Station Zebra

This afternoon was very chilly out on the water! We didn't even try for Bonefish. I went straight for the creeks. We caught lots of Snappers, Ladyfish, Jacks, and Porgies. The good news is tomorrow it is going to start warming up!! 80-degrees by Monday. I can't wait! I have a couple of openings next week if you would like to get out on the water.

Life IS Good

Fished with the Maltese family from New York City this morning. The main goal was to have Dillon, who is two years old, catch some fish. He came though like a champ! Not only was he a great angler, he did a good job manning the bait well! He made sure we all had shrimp when they were needed. What a wonderful family outing.

This afternoon I fished with Fred Pape and Terry Newell from Ocean Reef Club. Were were fly fishing looking for Bonefish. We Had several shots at fish but did not connect! There was abundant life on the flats! Sharks, Rays and Boxfish. It is great to see all the players returning to the flats after our awful cold snap! All will be normal soon!!!

Good Day On The Water

I was fishing this morning with Tim Rupli, his friend Brad Kline and Tim's son Tim. It was a cool but sunny day on the water. We were fishing for Tarpon and Snook with live bait. Sorry to say we did not hookup. We had a great time, telling fishing and hunting tales and soaking up the sun. Better luck tomorrow!!

Cool Fishing

I fished Sunday with Tim Rupli and his sons. I was really cold but the the boys hung tough and we ended up having a great day! They caught enough Snappers for dinner, also caught a Snook and jumped a dandy Tarpon.

Yesterday Don Asher and I headed out to the flats several miles offshore. We saw some Permit and Bonefish, but didn't hookup. Than we filled the box with dinner type fish and called it a day!!
